“This report is the first exercise by the European Commission (EC) to consolidate information about the activities of donor countries individually and together as on recipient countries, in response to the lack of this type of information. The EC has the initiative to gather and present information that may be useful to the need for ownership and leadership of developing countries on the one hand, and the urgency of harmonization and coordination of donor activity by countries receptors. Thus, the purpose of this report is to provide information to those interested in using it, be it for information, for interpretation or action. The paper offers a reflection on development trends and geographic reviews of countries where the European Union (EU) is a big donor. This review is for countries, sectors and themes. It also makes a donor´s profile and a performs review of four case studies of EU support: Morocco, Mozambique, Nicaragua and Vietnam. It also indicates the donors activities in the top 20 recipient of EU aid sources.”
