Identification and exchange of strategies for improving the effectiveness of city-to-city cooperation projects in support of the millennium development goals

“European cities have long establish modalities for engaging in international co-operation through city-to-city co-operation (C2C). The Council of Europe and the European Union have recognised the potential role and contribution of C2C in assinting cities in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. Similary, many European cities have commited themselves to C2C and have become actively engaged in bilateral cooperation arrangements in support of cities and civil organisations in what is known as North-South and Wets-East cooperation.
