“Trust Funds at the Inter-American Development Bank. Enhacing Development Assistance to Latin America and the Caribbean”

“Trust Funds at the Inter-American Development Bank is a first report of this kind to provide a comprehensive look at the role played by trust funds for technical cooperation with the region. The first section makes reference to loan operations and the loan project circle, and analyzes trust fund resource distribution and resource management in this context. The second section showcases the contribution of trust funds to four main Bank program areas: competitiveness, social development, environment and natural resource management and modernization of the state. The third section provides summaries of all current trust funds for technical cooperation, statistics on fund resource allocation, and highlights of fund contributions to Bank programs. In addition to producing the data and analysis for this report, this review feeds into a current, critical process of reinforcing the links between Bank trust fund operations and wider Bank programs. The Bank will strive to incorporate the operational and managerial lessons identified in this review of trust fund activities in its related proposals to member countries and in future policies and operations.”
